Lenovo Phab Plus unveiled in China for $406

The smartphones are becoming bigger and bigger with every new release. When the Samsung Galaxy Note was first launched in 2011 it was considered to be a massive device as it was sporting a 5.3 inch display which is nothing when compared to the current handset dimensions. Down the years there had been several devices flaunting a 5.5-6 inch displays. Now we have come to the juncture where a 6 inch display is considered to be an everyday affair. All said and done the Chinese smartphone OEM, Lenovo has unveiled their Phab Plus. The phablet is a 6.8 inch device which will be available for purchase soon.




The Phab Plus sports a 6.8 inch display with a screen resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The phablet is 7.6mm thick and it weighs 220 grams. There are four color options: Metallic Gray, Midnight Blue, Neon Pink and Elegant Silver platinum.



The device is powered by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The Android Lollipop based device comes with Lenovo’s Vibe UI on top. On the storage front the handset comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable via microSD card.

The 13-megapixel camera with OmniVision’s sensor is featured on the rear. It is complimented by a dual-LED flash. A 5-megapixel shooter can be spotted up front.



A 3,500mAh battery fuels the Phab Plus which the company guarantees up to 24 hours of talk time and around 350 hours of standby time. The Dolby Atmos tech is also included in this phablet which ensures an exceptional audio quality.

The dual-SIM based Phab Plus supports one Micro-SIM card and the other Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include 4G, 3G, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB.

Final Word

The Phab Plus is an apt name for this device as it is as big as a tablet. A few years back a 7 inch device was taken as a tablet but with the recent change of events the OEM's has reduced the bezels in order to accommodate the devices into a reasonable form factor. So if you are a person who likes it big then you are sure to adore this one from Lenovo.

As of now, the phablet will be available only in China for approximately $406. Lenovo hasn't announced any plans of unveiling it to its international market as of now.
