ZTE Axon Elite with three way unlocking feature for all the right reasons

ZTE's Axon brand has unveiled the ZTE Axon Elite which will be initially rolled out this month via eBay. The Axon range is another sub brand from ZTE who has already unwrapped the Nubia brand. The Axon brand focuses primarily on the premium phone range and will be targeting the US, Europe and the Chinese markets. The handset will reach France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom on September 24. Turkey, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russia and the Philippines would be getting the smartphone later this year. ZTE has priced that Axon Elite at EUR 419.99 (roughly Rs. 31,100).



The Axon Elite comes with more or less similar specifications to that of the original ZTE Axon which was launched in July this year. The Axon Elite comes equipped with a 5.5 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. The ZTE has replaced the Pro's top and bottom plastic back panels with a leather one which becomes complete with Samsung's fake leather stitching, which was its signature design for its many products over a few years. Under the hood we come across a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810(quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 2GHz) processor clubbed with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM.



The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based device features dual-lens of a 13 MP and 2 MP at the rear with BSI CMOS sensor and dual-LED flash. Recording of 4K resolution videos is also possible in this device. An 8 MP front camera is also on board. The dual-SIM Axon Elite gets a 32 GB of in built storage with no option for further storage expansion. The connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB.

The metal-clad ZTE Axon Elite ropes in a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The Elite's most tempting features involves the unlocking of the device. There's a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device just below the rear camera. But that's not all. The phone can also be unlocked via your eye scan or even with your voice. How secure the last mode is, of course, unclear. We've got no idea how well the features work, so it's hard to gauge if they're truly useful or just sheer gimmick. Ion Gold will be the only color option for the ZTE Axon Elite.

A fingerprint scanner is quite new to the Axon Elite and it does unlock quite quickly as how we would be expecting. The rest of the features seems like pretty much any top range 2015 flagship does and includes a 64bit Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, quick charing, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 3000mAh battery and 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display.
