Microsoft Lumia 950 with a heap of features for Lumia fans

After much rumors and tweaks, Microsoft has announced the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL at an event in New York. The Surface Pro 4, Surface Book and the Microsoft Band 2 were also launched alongside. The company's latest OS, the Windows 10 Mobile will be featured on both the handsets. The Microsoft Lumia 950 will start from $549, approximately Rs. 35,800, while the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL will start at $649 (roughly Rs. 42,300). Both the handsets will be available by November via offline and online retailers across the country.



The Microsoft Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch QHD display with a screen resolution of 1440x2560 pixels and thus amounting to a pixel density of 564ppi. It is powered by a 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC and 3GB of RAM. The 32GB of inbuilt storage is further expandable via microSD card up to 200GB. The dimensions of the handset comes up to 145 x 73.2 x 8.25 mm and weighs 150 grams.



The handset ropes in a 20 MP rear auto focus camera with ZEISS optics, 5th Optical Image Stabilization, triple LED flash. A modest 5 MP front-snapper is also on board. The Lumia 950 which is also available in a dual SIM variant ropes in the regular connectivity features including 4G LTE /3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C 3.1.

A 3,000mAh battery backs up the device with fast charging capabilities that will allow you to charge the phone up till 50% in just 30 minutes. One of the USP is the use of the liquid cooling technology which cools down the phone. The device can be easily connected to a Microsoft Display Dock and use it with an external monitor, a keyboard and a mouse for a PC-like experience. The Microsoft Lumia 950 will be available in Black and White color variants for purchase.
