LG Nexus 5 2015: The story so far.

LG Nexus 5 to launch with Snapdragon 808, 1080p display and the revolutionary USB Type -C port.

It has been a while since rumors has began to float around regarding the new Nexus 5 which is being produced by LG. Google has been tight lipped so far regarding all these rumors. To be honest we still are not sure if Nexus 5 is the name and how much it will be costing. It is most likely said to be a mid-level flagship device.

Talking about the major specifications the device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 which is not a big surprise as it was already been speculated that the 808 will be featured in one of the two upcoming Nexus devices. The Adreno 418 GPU is the chip featured in the device whose performance is almost on par with Adreno 420 which has been adorned in Nexus 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 . The 808 will be paired with 3GB of RAM on this upcoming Nexus phone.

The 5.2 inch full HD screen poses to be an interesting choice by LG as the lower display resolution reduces the power consumption. This when combined with the 808 chipset ensures a smooth and perhaps a hassle free operation all the time.

When it comes to power the device is most likely to be shipped with a 2,700mAh battery. The support of a USB Type-C Port is an added advantage. A 2,700mAh battery definitely sounds accurate for a 5.2 inch screen smartphone but may however disappoint the users if it does not come with improved power consumption features.

The rear camera will sport a 12.3MP sensor, and a 5MP sensor will be out front. Apparently that's all the detail we can get on the cameras at this point. Earlier leaks suggested that the new Nexus 5 will be based on the recently announced Android M OS. If this is true then the LG made Nexus will be one of the first handsets to feature this new OS from Google.

On the list of more everyday aspects we have the storage options of 16GB and 32 GB models. Given that the price will be "sub-flagship," these specs are reasonable. The phone will also come in three colors: black, white, and blue. However, there is no confirmation that the rear panel of the handset will be flanked with a fingerprint sensor or not.

As for when we can expect the phone? The end of September is probably a good bet, and that period has been proved by a South Korean site. But as with any Google product, delays could happen, so don't get your heart set on it yet. We will only really know, only when the invitations for the launch are sent out.

Thanks to the countless rumors and tips we now have a vivid idea about how this years Nexus device will be like. That's all we've got for now, but we'll let you know if we hear any more exciting news regarding the upcoming Nexus devices.
