Facebook-owned image sharing platform, Instagram is all set to fight against the posting of abusive and offensive comments in their application.
Instagram brings a new update that will block offensive and hate speech by default and users are also given the liberty to manually report any individual pages or comments if find inappropriate.
This new feature of the application can be activated by navigating to the account settings, and then to 'Comment Settings and toggle 'Hide Offensive Comments' switch. It appears to replace the existing 'Hide Inappropriate Comments' switch, which likely used a basic block list. The new update will make the application more secure and friendly for the users and have certain machine learning features built inside the application to block spam and robotic messages that creep inside the profiles of users.
