Safecomm - An ideal mobile for children

A solution to the worries of parents

In this current era of insecurity, we cannot blame parents who gift mobile phones to their children to keep them safe. To make calls to parents or authorities when they are in trouble- this is the very basic reason why parents give mobile phones to their children. But the device, being multi functional, paves the way for children to misuse it in different ways. The recent atrocities in the societies of various countries prove that these gadgets bring in more curses than blessings. Putting an end to all these problems, Accentia Technologies -A Trivandrum Technopark based company in Kerala has brought forth a new phone- Safecomm. It is a phone in function and a remote by its looks. Safecomm is designed for the 'vulnerable' session of the society or family, they say.

Safecomm

Safecomm has no display screen. It has four buttons. Only four numbers can be saved in it. In coming and out going calls are possible only to and fro these four pre-loaded numbers. These four numbers can be added by the parent. These four keys can be configured only through the mobile phones of the parent. Safecomm has a central SOS button. When the user is in some trouble, he/she can inform all the four persons about that with a single click on the SOS button. Calls will be going to all the four pre-loaded numbers, until one of them is answered. Simultaneously, four messages will be sent to those four numbers, informing them that the person is in trouble and needs help.

The phone has an in built GPS system, which enables the parents to track their kid's current position just by sending a message. A reply will be sent shortly by the Safecomm clarifying their child's latest position. Another model without GPS facility is also available. “The inspiration for Safecomm came from rising reports about crime against school children, girls and ladies. We wanted to come out with a solution where misusing mobiles can be avoided among school/college students. Safecomm is a completely safe device for students at all levels and the parents will have total peace of mind even if they are away from their kids”, Said Pradeep Viswambharan, MD & CEO of Accentia Technologies Ltd.

Safecomm

This device has no SMS facility, no internet and no camera. So it is absolutely safe to give to your child, how old she/he might be. There is no room for misusing the phone. The single sim phone has four different caller tunes and four different flash lights to indicate the four different identities. Safecomm is a simple mode of communication for the elderly people too. There is no wonder in our grand parents complaining about the complexity in using mobile phones of nowadays. Safecomm will be a blessing to them. They can avail medical assistance in case of emergency by adding the number of their family doctor or nearest hospital or of a readily reachable friend.

Safecomm

Safecomm comes within a very affordable price. It costs only 2,999/- Indian rupees. Safecomm will be launching in November 15th , on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's Birth day, which is Celebrated as the Children's Day in India. After that, it will be available in all retail outlets and mobile stores. It will be available in online markets too. Accentia is gearing up for a global launch soon.
