Lava introduces its 7" tablets, Xtron, with a budget friendly price tag.
The device has an IPS display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, which not at all bad for a 7 inch screen sized device with capacitive multi-touch. The tablet has a thickness of 11mm and it weighs 350g. It is backed up with Android 4.1 operating system. It has a dual-core 1.5GHz Cortex A9 processor and a quad-core Mali-400 graphics. It has 1GB RAM. The Lava E-Tab Xtron comes with a screen size of 7 inches. The tablet has an internal storage memory of 8GB, of which, 5GB will be available for the users. The external memory can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The tablet packs a 2MP front facing camera. The device has Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G connectivity via USB dongle, and a USB port. The Lava E-Tab Xtron will be powered by a battery of 3500 mAh. It is expected to provide a talk time of 3-4 hours with the Wi- Fi on.
The Lava E-Tab Xtron has not yet made its official release. Even now, no talks about its lauch have been announced by the company. Now it is available only on Flipkart. As it is available only online, we haven’t got a specimen to test whether the company’s claims are true or not. Being the company’s first Android tablet that runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the tablet has been watched with much curiosity.
The Lava has done some tie ups with other companies to bring in some good quality applications along with the tablet. The Tablet comes pre installed with an entertainment package worth Rs. 2000/- free form Hungama.com, one month unlimited online movie package from BigFlix for just Rs 1, free vedic maths package, discounts worth Rs 4,000 from meritnation.com, a free career booster package and additional 20% discount from edukart.com etc.
Other pre-loaded apps include, Facebook, Office Suite, Nimbuzz, Twitter, Flash Player, Adobe reader, TOI, Fusion, Pizza Ninja, Solitaire, Chess, Memory Game, Sudoku, Mine Sweeper and Ping Pong.
Lava is sure to experience a very tough competition in the field with more than 100 MNC s and India’s won manufacturing companies. Even the very natives of Lava, the Micromax and Karbonn will be showing no mercy on it, as far as the gadget markets are concerned.
