Lava XOLO A1000 Now Available Online for Rs. 14,000/-

Lava launched its 5-inch Dual SIM A1000 Jelly Bean phone in India.

When Micromax A116 Canvas HD was released in the last week, the tech world has marked it as a strong rival to Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos and Karbonn S1 Titanium. Well, the list does not end there, the new release from Lava, makes another strong competitor to Canvas A116 HD. The device is dubbed Xolo A1000. Last Friday, the company had announced it official launch through its official site, and now, the device has reached almost all the mobile retail outlets in India. The phone is available at a price tag of Rs. 14,000/- Indian Rupees.

Lava Xolo A1000

The Xolo A1000 is manufactured with a unique technology called the One Glass Solution (OGS) display technology, which helps in reducing the physical size of the phone. The phone is available at a price of 13,999/- Indian Rupees in Flipkart, and it will take 7-8 days to ship the phone, according to them. The Micromax Canvas A116 HD also is available at exactly the same price tag. There would have been “the End” of Micromax Canvas A116 HD, if Xolo A1000 was priced below Rs.13,999/- and slightly above 10.000/-. But as both the phones have same price tag, the competition is gonna be real tough.

The phone has a 5-inch HD IPS display. It has a 1280×720 resolution at 295 PPI. As mentioned above, the phone is Dual SIM capable. It has a size measuring 70.8×143.5×8.8 mm. It has a memory of 1 GB RAM and 4 GB ROM. It has an internal memory of 4 GB, and an external memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD card slot. Xolo A1000 has a MediaTek MT6577 chip set with a dual-core 1GHz CPU and PowerVR SGX531 GPU. The device runs on Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System.

It has GPRS connectivity and 3G connectivity with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA; 5.76 Mbps HSUPA. The device has a Wi-Fi connectivity at 802.11 b/g/n and also micro USB port too. The phone packs a v4 Bluetooth also. The 2100 mAh battery of the phone provides a standby time of 350 hrs (2G). it gives a talk time of 14 hrs on 2G and 10 hrs on 3G.

Lava Xolo A1000

Xolo A1000 comes in two classic colours, Black and White. The phone is available across India. Whether this will slow down the rapid sales of Micromax A116 Canvas HD, is a question which needs some more anticipation before answering.

I got the Karbonn smart tab 2 days back and I'm pretty much dptpiaoinsed with it. Following the cons and pros that I found out, let me first start with ConsCons1. Display is not great and color reproduction is bad.2. Majority of the app in Google play are not supported. There are workarounds but not straight forward3. Though Karbonn claims this tab to be a good gaming device, its just the opposite. You hardly find any 3D games that are supported on this tab4. Karbonn support seems non existent. Their toll free is not answering and service center guys are not even aware of this tablet. This is a new product so that could be the reason5. Front facing 2MP camera is useless since none of the video chat apps are supported.6. Kinetic scrolling is not great. Download Dolphin HD or some other good browser for better experience7. If you do a hard reset, then will not be able to Install Google play and lots of other apps. Again there are workarounds for this aswell. Pros1. Good looks2. Build quality seems good.3. Battery life is good4. WIFI is seamless, no disconnects and good reception as well5. Good pricingConclusion. You've to make a lot of compromises with these budget tablets. Micromax and HCL Me are almost similar to Karboon smart tab and will have almost all of the cons that I've mentioned above. Please do not have any high expectations from these budget tablets.I'll not advice anyone to go for these budget tablets.I had brought this for my kids and they too are dptpiaoinsed due to lack to gaming capability. Micromax' and HCL Me' too are the same
