A Consortium of 45 Chinese Phone Makers is Coming to India through AndroidGuruz

A huge wave of China Phones is gonna hit India soon!

Studies have reported that India has become the second largest telecom market in the world. Any phone/smartphone with a huge list of quality features and a low price will be sold out in India like hot cakes. Smartphone manufacturers have noticed that. Now, China is going to explore the chance. A group of Chinese manufacturers are planning to enter India, with the help of a start up. The startup will be setting up nearly 200 sales and service centres for nearly 45 different phone manufacturers.

This startup has been named as AndroidGuruz, as it will be selling out only Android smartphones in the beginning. Feature phones and Tablets will be coming later. AndroidGuruz will be offering Sales, Services, Replacement Warranty, and even experience zones for all handsets from China. The Chinese brands will be providing 3 months replacement warranty with 1 year support.

“The Indian government has given FDI clearance to over 230 Chinese brands out of which 45-50 are in mobile phone business. The consortium is made up of these companies,” said Vivek Deshpande, Asia Support Manager of AndroidGuruz in a telephone call that has been done with a famous media.

AndroidGuruz will definitely make the Chinese foot in India more strong. Currently there are are around 12 brands of Chinese phones are available in India. One of the main reasons that prevent the people of India from buying the handset is that there is no guarantee for the sets. If it is damaged, there is nothing else to do than merely throwing it away. By the coming of AndroidGuruz, this will change, and the Chinese phones are sure to be the number one best selling brand in India.

The Shenzen based consortium will be setting up a franchisee network in the country under the brand. The first store is getting ready to open this month at Nehru Place in New Delhi. This will be followed by stores in Bangalore and Thane by the end of next month.

This will create some business offers to young Indians. There will be no franchisee fees or deposit. The interested people can start an outlet. The only requirement will be to acquire demo handset samples and have a retail space of 200-300 sq feet. Sounds great? Get ready for that!

Companies Coming:

Though the AndroidGuruz is planning to bring 45 Chinese brands to India, at first, there will be only the leading Chinese Smartphone manufacturers coming to India. The leading Chinese quad-core brands like Zopo, UMI, JiaYu, Mogu and Iocean will be the openers, which will eventually be followed by Meizu, OPPO and others later in the year or the beginning of next year.

The Current Indian Market:

Some three months ago, Chinese electronics company Konka announced its entry into India and said that it will invest $30 million to sell Android phones in the country. The $3 billion company partnered with Mak Mobility to set up a distribution network.

Huawei and Lenovo have been emphasising their place in the Indian market in the recent times. Huawei wanted to create nearly 250 experience centres in India by the end of this year and sell 800,000 smartphones. Lenovo has launched a range of Android based phones to be sold in India.

As if guessed about the double accelerated move from China, Apple and Amazon have been busy with establishing their position in the battle field. Both of them have realised that their strategy of selling the devices through premium dealers are not working as they expected. So, both of them have changed their tactics by tying up with specialized distribution companies such as Ingram Micro and Redington (India).

As we mentioned in the beginning, the mobile phone market in India had reached 218 million units in 2012, registering 16% growth when compared to calendar year 2011. this growth in the mobile phone market of India owe much to the growth in the smartphone market. According to some latest reports, there was a growth of nearly 48% in the smartphone market alone. There is no doubt that India will become the largest market in the World as far as smartphone selling is concerned. But keep in mind that, this shows how much we have become the victims of consumerism!
