To bring back the golden days that the Finnish mobile manufacturer has lost, Nokia launched its flagship smartphone, the Lumia 1020. Hype was the anticipation and excitement that Nokia built up by each leaks about the Lumia 1020. Of course, its 41 MP PureView is the highlight of the device. Bundled with even more features, the Lumia 1020 lives somewhat up to the expectations of smartphone fanatics.
"We want to take people on a journey from capturing pictures to recording and sharing their lives. The Nokia Lumia 1020 will bring new meaning to pictures and continues to strengthen Nokia's leadership in imaging," commented Mr. Stephen Elop, President and CEO, Nokia.
Nokia hopes that the Lumia 1020 will be a benchmark for it. The company claims that the second generation 41 megapixel sensor is capable to capture what is even undiscoverable by human eyes. Additionally, it has a new feature called dual capture, which enables the Lumia 1020 to take high resolution 38 megapixel image for high-end editings, and to snap 5 megapixel stills which can easily be shared to social networks. Moreover, features such as Optical image stabilization, PureView, Backside-illuminated image sensor, 6-lens optics, High resolution zoom 3x, Nokia Smart Camera, Cinemagraph lens, Panorama lens, Bing vision, PhotoBeamer, Creative Studio, Nokia Glam Me, Nokia Pro Camera, Nokia Pro Camera, Panorama, Creative Studio, Nokia Smart Camera, Nokia Glam Me Lens, photoBeamer, and Cinemagraph are installed in it.
Along with the 41 MP primary camera, a 1.2 MP front camera has been featured to make video calls. A powerful Xenon flash is also seen on it.
It seems Nokia wants nothing with a bigger screen. Again a 4.5 inch AMOLED WXGA screen with a resolution of 1280 x 768 Pixels is equipped. It has a pixel density of 334 ppi. Meanwhile, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is fixed to save the screen from scratches. The Lumia 1020 is powered by a Dual-core 1.5 GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 processor, which is assisted by 2GB RAM.
It has an internal memory of 32GB, while there is no expandable memory option is provided. Well, the device is operated by Microsoft Windows Phone 8 OS. It will be hold by a BV-5XW 2000 mAh battery, which offers talktime of 19.1 h (2G) & 13.3 h (3G).
The Lumia 1020 is available only in Black, White, and Yellow. Colors. It has been priced at $299.99 (approximately Rs. 17,890) on a two-year contract with AT&T in the US.
