After much of anticipation, Sony has finally launched its Xperia Z Ultra smartphone in India. After the Xperia Z, this Ultra had been the trumpet card of the company. As the name indicates, it is an “Ultra” version of the Xperia Z smartphone. It is quite bigger than the Xperia Z, the flagship smartphone of Sony. The Xperia Z Ultra has been released in India with a price tag of rupees 46,990/-. as per the reports, the phone will be available in all leading retail outlets from tomorrow onwards.
Like its elder siblings, the Xperia Z smartphone and tablet, the Xperia Z Ultra also has dust proof ans water proof certifications. The smartphone has IP55 and IP58 certifications. That means, the touch screen allows both stylus and pencil operations.
The bigger display of the display screen is the main attraction of this smartphone. The device has a bigger 6.4 inch display screen with full HD display. The screen gas a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The main draw back of the Xperia Z was the TFT capacitive touch scree. Keeping that in mind, the company has installed a new technology in the Xperia Ultra smartphone. It will be having Sony's Triluminos LCD panel.Though the screen size is bigger, the device is not that gigantic. The Xperia Z Ultra is still slim and light weighted that it seems to be.
Yet another plus point of the device is the powerful processor. The Z Ultra smartphone is coming packed with a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC. When it comes with the company of Adreno 330 GP, it is impressive, we should say. The Xperia Z Ultra smartphone has a RAM of 2GB, along with 16 GB internal storage capacity. The device has an external memory, which can be expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card.
The phone comes with twin cameras. There will be a 8 MP camera on the rear side of the smartphone and a 2 MP camera on the front side of the smartphone. Though there are nothing unique in the camera features of the smartphone, the performance will be above average, we hope. The smartphone has all the possible connectivity options. The smartphone is powered by a 3050 mAh battery. As per the claims of the company, the battery will give you a 16 hours of talk time and 820 hours of standby time on 3G, and 14 hours of talktime and 870 hours of standby time on 2G.
The Indian edition of the smartphone will be having an extra feature, the Sony LIV. This app will let you catch up with the TV shows and the Sony Music Jive app lets you stream music. As an initial attraction, the company has offered the users one month of free access to BigFlix and the full version of the Asphalt 7 game. The accessories list includes a stereo Bluetooth headset, which can act both as a secondary calling device and a media controlling device. The package includes a magnetic charging dock and an extra battery too.
