Google has been flooding news with the release of cheapest smartphones at a price range of Rs.6,000 to Rs.6,500, well in competition with Intex's Firefox smartphone at Rs 1,999. Just when we thought that Firefox has beaten Google in the cheap smart phone game, Intex has stunned the market again by releasing Android 4.4 Kitkat phone, Aqua T2, at Rs.2,699 ($44).
Specifications of the phone are of course not so great yet has done justice to the price at which it is being offered. For anyone who's looking for a basic Android experience, Intex Aqua T2 will do. Current information on the sales tells us that this phone will be available only in Indian market.
This dual sim set comes with a display of 3.5 inch (320×480) HVGA and 1.3 Ghz dual core MediaTek MT6571 Processor compared to Android one which uses 1.3Ghz Quadcore MediaTek processors. Camera resolution is 2MP rear camera and 0.3 MP front camera with a LED flash and Panorama shot. It has a 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. User memory is 16 MB with expandable memory up to 32GB. Apart from 3G, almost all the basic features of Android are available on this handset including Google Maps, A-GPS, Wi-fi etc. A reasonable battery of 1100 mAh is provided.

This set will be available only through Flipkart. It is obvious that there's is more in store as far as the cheap Android smart phones are concerned.
