A survey that was conducted last year to check the number of cell phone users in each country revealed that India is the second biggest user of cell phones. As much as 900 million or 90 crore people actively use a mobile device and among 100 individuals almost 78 connections were observed. China is on top of the list with a billion active cellphone users and around 93 connections per 100 citizens. These figures show how much of an impact the cellphone has made since its inception. To further increase the dependence on the petite device, device manufacturers in India are trying to make the technology accessible and affordable to almost anyone. Videocon have done just that by launching its new product, the Infinium Z51 Nova.
The Infinium Z51 Nova is a one-of-a-kind smartphone and claims to be the first 5” phone that is designed, developed and manufactured in India and should indeed attract the masses because it offers a whole bunch of features for such a light price tag. Although Videocon's cellphone products haven't enjoyed a significant presence among the leading phone makers in the Indian market and with much of the users leaning towards Chinese phone developers, the new Infinium should provide a ray of hope for the Mumbai based electronics giant. Videocon have cleverly targeted the entry level smartphone users and the price has been set quite attractively.
Here are some of the top features of the phone:
• Display: 5-inch IPS panel with 480x854 pixels resolution
• Processor: 1.2GHz Quad-core

The phone comes equipped with a V-Safe app that is intended to be of use during emergencies and is programmed to call the nearest relative or friends.
Price for the smartphone is Rs 5400/- and can be ordered both offline and online.
With a slew of sophisticated features for an entry level guided phone, the stakes are high and the competition can heat up as there are plenty of models in this segment but by pricing it right and producing a reliable phone like the Z51 Nova, Videocon could just be able to make the cut.
