The ZTE Axon sports a 5.5 inch Quad-HD display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560. With this pixel density the screen naturally display's unbelievably sharp details and is able to maintain clarity from all viewing angles. The ZTE phones has always been so manly with absolutely no sense of style and design. Even the premium quality ones never showcased a good-looking design. However with the ZTE Axon the company has tried to revamp the appearance a bit. Being clothed up in metal the phone sure weighs a lot but will stay safe in our hands. The Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold and Chromium Silver color variants materializes the device into a quite charming one. It measures 154 x 75 x 9.3 mm and weighs 175 grams.
What we have under the hood is interesting. An octa-core 2.0GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. When it comes to storage the device provides a generous 4GB of RAM space along with 32 GB of internal memory. But a little disappointed with the lack of an expandable storage option. The interface is quick and responsive as well making the phone looks like performing all those operations effortlessly.
The dual rear camera lenses crack-up to a 13 MP and a 2 MP one which together allows the device to execute pre and post editing effects. The other camera features include a complete manual mode which means one can adjust parameters like the Whit balance, ISO and shutter speed. As long as 80 seconds can be set up as the shutter speed which will be highly beneficial when capturing images in low light mode. The 4K recording and f/1.8 aperture rear camera is complemented with an 8 MP front camera.
Made out of metal and glass the ZTE Axon is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with an amazing audio quality with AKM 4961 Hi-Fi audio chipset.

Final View
Packed in with a powerful processor, quad HD screen, dual rear camera and 4GB of RAM the ZTE Avon is going to be priced high at $450. The Snapdragon 810 chipset handles more processor intensive tasks without much strain.
An external expandable memory is missing but a 4 GB of RAM along with 32 GB internal storage is more than enough for a mid-level power user.
The unique camera system of dual rear cameras with manual adjustments gives a personalized feeling to the users which is even better with the adjustment of the shutter speeds as and how you want.
Being solely designed for the US population the Axon doesn't feature a dual SIM slot nor any Asian-influenced interfaces. All these years ZTE has been producing low cost, base-level spec models in the US. But the Axon is more of like a flagship by the ZTE for the US consumers.
There is nothing remarkable in the design but the grills on the top and bottom of the front display is an eye-candy. All set to hit the markets for sale on July 27 we just wish the ZTE good luck for their survival as well as for earning a bigger slice of the US market share.
