Selfie and Gaming revolution taken to the next level with Samsung J5 and J7

Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 launched at Rs 11,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively.

The Korean tech giant has unwrapped two more additions to the Galaxy J series with J5 priced at Rs. 11,999/- and J7 priced at Rs 14,999/- The phones will be exclusively available in FlipKart from July 23 and you can start booking for the phone from July 16. The J7 and J5 were first launched in China during the month of June and the models which have been launched now is slightly different from the earlier ones. The smartphones will be available in White, Black and Gold color variants.



The Samsung Galaxy J5 will feature a 5 inch TFT HD super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1280x720 pixels and measures 142x73x8.5mm with 148 grams whereas the J7 will sport a slightly bigger 5.5 inch screen with the same screen resolution and measures 152.2x79.1x7.9mm with 168 grams. Both the device features the Sound Alive technology for absolute entertainment experience

The J5 will be horse-powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 401 SoC while an 1.5GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC will gear up the J7. Both bears 1.5GB RAM space each. The Indian versions of the J5 features an 8 GB internal storage when compared to the 16 GB offered in the Chinese models. It can be further expanded via micro SD cards up to 128 GB. The J7 is more appealing when coming to the storage part since it offers 16 GB of internal storage and the same 128 GB of external one.Samsung has also released a 1.5GHz octa-core Exynos 7580 processor version of the J7 along with the Chinese model.

The Android 5.1 based smartphones will be dual-SIM with dual standby. Apart from 4G connectivity the phone features the basic options including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, Glonass and Micro USB. The rear camera will be 13MP with f/1.9 aperture while the selfie camera will be 5MP with LED flash.The J5 packs in a 2,600mAh battery which is said to be contributing a standby time of 342 hours while with a 3,000mAh battery the J7 has a greater standby time of 354 hours. Other popular features include power saver mode, easy mode and 14 regional language support as well.

As part of marketing strategy Samsung has been attracting customers with lot of free add-ons as well. While there will be free game credits worth Rs 3200 from Gameloft, Airtel is also giving buyers a double data offer as well as access to music worth Rs 594 over six months. A flip wallet cover worth Rs 800 is also part of the freebies.

Our View
The gaming experience in both the devices will be too pleasing with the Quad-core and Octa-core processors. The Sound Alive technology will be an added boost to the whole experience. Key difference between Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 is that the former model features a bigger 5.5-inch HD screen, powered by powerful 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor with 3000 mAh battery, whereas the latter, comes with smaller 5.0-inch display , Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU and 2600 mAh.
Samsung Galaxy J5 will be a competition with the popular Xiaomi Redmi 2, YU Yuphoria, Xiaomi Mi 4i Whereas the Galaxy J7 will be competing with Asus Zenfone 2, OnePlus One, Xiaomi Mi4, Meizu M1 Note, Lenovo K3 Note and the recently released Xolo Black.
