When coming to the specifications the new Redmi 2A is much identical to the original one as it sports the same 4.7 inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It keeps the same dimensions as the Redmi 2 as well, at 134.00x67.20x9.40mm. For improved performance the upgraded handset features a better CPU and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Leadcore (L1860C) Cortex-A7 processor. The processor comes bundled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt-storage which is in contrast to the 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory of the earlier Redmi 2A. A 32 GB of expandable memory is also available in the handset.
The 2,200mAh battery provides juice to the handset and supports 4G LTE, which is of course the main point of this handset at this price point. The other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct and wireless display functionality, alongside GPS/ A-GPS, USB and Bluetooth.
