The Samsung Galaxy J2 flaunts a 4.7 inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 960x540 pixels. The Galaxy J2 is designed with a faux leather back and a metallic edge. The handset will be available from a variety of retailers in black, white and gold color options. The dimensions of the handset measures up to 136.5x69x8.4mm.
J2 will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 SoC, which is paired up with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage space amounts up to 8 GB which can be further expanded to a 128 GB via micro SD card.
Backed by a 2,000mAh battery the J2 comes equipped with a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP sensor on the front. Samsung has introduced a new Ultra Data Saving Mode in J2 which will be powered by Opera Max's data compression technology. With this mode almost 50% data is saved while downloading a video, 40% saved when using social apps and up to 30% is saved while browsing the web. The company claims that eventually with this mode a total of 50% of data can be saved and even can free up to 11% RAM space as well.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop based J2 is layered with the TouchWiz UI on top and supports dual-SIM technology, which is in fact a common feature in Indian handsets. Just like the Samsung Galaxy J1, the J2 also supports 4G and LTE connections in India. Other than 4G the connectivity options includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB.
