The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser was announced for India back in July along with the Zenfone 2 Deluxe. We’ve seen a lot of the company’s products roll out since then, but they have revisited the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser and made some changes under the hood. The talking point of the smartphone is its photographic chops. It features a 13-megapixel f2.0 PixelMaster camera with dual-LED flash, and Laser auto-focus. Asus says that the Laser auto-focus lets one focus on the subject in less than half a second. Up front, is a 5-megapixel f2.0 selfie camera. The original Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 was a solid handset, but a little underpowered compared to some of its competitors. Asus has remedied that with the updated Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, which will now have a Snapdragon 615 instead of the 410, and you’ll get 3GB of RAM as well.
The smartphone also includes a 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under the ZenUI. It has 16GB ROM, ASUS Web storage worth 5GB (lifetime), 100GB of Google Drive storage space free and supports a micro SD card (128GB). Asus India has confirmed that the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.5 will be available in 3 colour variants.
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 price is listed at ₹13,999 at Flipkart and it’s available in Black, White and Red if you’re looking to pick one up. As we are nearing the end of the year, it should be the last Zenfone 2 Laser variant we see, but stranger things have happened.
