What happened with Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos:

An analysis on the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos smartphone.

When Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos was about to come to India, there were so many who were waiting for it. People of India, especially the salaried youth, were eager to own it. It has been quite a while that the device made its entrance to India. And we hear no more whoops. What happened to all those excitements? Where did Samsung go wrong? Let us go through the disadvantages of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. These were reported by the users of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. We were waiting for the first user reports to be out to have an analysis of Galaxy Grand Duos, and here it comes:

Display:

Well, this was expected very well before the releasing of the mobile. The poor ppi of Galaxy Grand was a hot topic when it was officially announced. This is exactly the main reason for so many to re think about owning a Galaxy Grand. The poor display makes the screen, the icons, the widgets all look not so sharp. It is not an AMOLED display. It is just an LCD display. Nothing much can be expected from an LCD display. Right? Moreover, Samsung has not provided any screen protection for Grand Duos. So, the screen is highly prone to scratches. No Gorilla protection. Highly prone to scratches.

Processor:

Processor is another minus point of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. Samsung could have implemented a branded processor. Instead, they put in an unknown 1.2 GHz Dual core processor. Samsung could have foreseen that almost all of its rival brands are giving smartphones at a lesser price with good quality dual core, or sometimes quad core processors.

Battery:

Owing much to the energy consuming LCD display, the battery of Galaxy Grand does not give any satisfactory performance life. Battery could have been bigger. It drains out quickly, even after optimizing battery performance.

Camera:

Though the phone has an 8MP rear camera, the images do not have that much clarity. Could be because of the poor display screen. The camera of Galaxy Grand let the camera freaks down.

Memory:

Out of the proclaimed 8GB, there is only 4GB left for the users. The rest of the memory has been sucked up the Android OS.

Hangs quiet often:

It is quite normal for a complicated device to be hung at times. But what if it hangs more often? And the tragedy is that, the power key will be utterly useless when the phone hangs. There are no other option than removing the back cover of the phone, take out the battery, then reset everything.

High price:

These issues would not have been issues at all, if the price was a bit lesser. But at this price rate, all these issues will feel enormous. There are also some other issues too, like the absence of the Flash player, poor response from the service centres etc.

Only a brand name will not do magic. Scaling down should not mean cutting down all the good essence. Samsung could have release Grand Duos to stop or at least to slow down companies like Micromax, who were selling feature rich phones at such a budget friendly price. But this time, Samsung disappointed the youth. These issues, are so silly when considered individually. But when all of it comes together, it is bad.
