Xolo A600 Review

Another twist in the mid-range smartphone class by Xolo.

Lava is branding Xolo to become a class leader in the future and the firm is even pushing Xolo as a different brand by not even scribing a single mark of Lava on the devices. Yup! Xolo smartphones have won hearts of people in short while since the company's arrival. The A600 is the latest that launched by the firm. Let's go through its review.

Design
The designs of Indian mobile manufacturers have gone miles ahead. The Xolo 600 not only dissapoints anyone but also is very impressive to look at. The designers have done a great job as far the price range of the gadget is concerned. Of course, the smartphone has a rich look.

Display
The Xolo 600 comes with a 4.5 inches IPS display which has a resolution of 960 x 540 (qHD) pixels. With 245 PPI (Pixels Per Inch), the gadget is smart enough to be scrolled up and down even under sunlight.

Processor and Performance
Having powered by a 1.3 GHz Dual Core processor and a MT 6572W chipset, the A600 is capable to bear the present generation's taskings. Though, it's assisted with only 512 MB RAM, we can't ask much since it's priced very low and is placed in only the mid-range.

The device is also blessed with a dedicated graphics core, Mali-400 MP chipset, which enables even high-end games which may not work in other smartphones.

Operating System
It's run on Google's Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. That means, the machine is never behind to anything expect the all new Google Nexus 5, which is run on the latest Android v4.4 KitKat. It's uncertain whether the A600 will be updated to KitKat in later or not. Since it is only a mid-range device possibilities are very less.

Memory Storage
It is preloaded with a 4 GB internal memory and can be increased further up to 32 GB via an external microSD card. This is respectful enough for buyer to make empty the stocks.

Camera
Don't expect much. It's not Lumia, iPhone, Galaxy, Xperia, or HTC. So even if the paper shows 5 MP rear camera, you may not get exactly the same when you compare to other branded devices in the same class. The primary cam is assisted by single LED as well. The A600 also has a VGA front cam for video calling purpose.

Battery Backup
The A600 comes with a 1900 mAh standard Li-on standard battery, which ensures up to 22 hours and 10 hours talktime in 2G and 3G respectively. Meanwhile continous browsing on 3G can be done up to 3.5 hours, music playback using wired headsets up to 82 hours, video playback using wired headsets up to 6 hours, standby time on 2G using single SIM up to 650 hours, and up to 366 hours in 3G with the same measurement.

So don't get panicked for the battery backup. Here is everything you need.

Price
Lava does great pricing always. So is in the case of Xolo A600. Of course, the device has been priced very reasonably. Still, it's a bit challenging as strong competitors like Micromax and Karbonn are well settled with a bunch a smartphones in all price ranges.

Verdict
The Xolo A600 is nothing but a budget mid-sized smartphone for those who don't consider brand and after sales, and of course, those who value money. That's where the device gonna win hearts.

Pros
Reasonable pricing
Better performance
Dedicated graphics
Looks good

Cons
Even 512MB RAM can't boost up mid-range smartphoning.
