Samsung recently launched world's first curved smartphone. Dubbed Galaxy Round, the device is a variant of the popular Galaxy note from the company. It is the curved display smartphone launched for the first time.
Samsung Galaxy Round smartphone has a 5.7 inch curved display screen. It has 1080 pixels resolution. The curved design of the device allows more grip and makes the device easier to hold. With a thickness of 7.9 mm and a weight of 154g, the device's back cover is leather modelled. There is a 2.3 GHz quad core processor inside the hood.
The memory options of the device include a 3 GB RAM, 32 GB inbuilt storage and a microSD card expansion too. There is a 13 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. There is a 2,800mAh battery to power up the whole device. The device is running on Android 4.3 Operating System.
When the home screen is off, the user can simply roll the phone over towards one side and he will be getting the date, time, missed call list and battery level. This is the new Roll Effect feature brought in by the company. Even if the display is off, the user can change the currently playing music track to the previous one or the next one by simply pressing the left or the right of the device.
The device is launched in Korea, and will be available in Luxury Brown colour.
More devices with more colours will be available in other parts of the world too sooner. The device is available in Korea for $1,000, that is, approximately Rs.62,000/- Indian Rupees.
