HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM With 5.5 Inch Display launched in China.

The HTC Desire 728 is the newest addition to the Desire series in China. The smartphone is available for pre-orders and will be ready to be shipped by mid-September. The HTC company had been battling in the smartphone market for a while as the competition is getting tougher day by day. Like all of the company’s recent Desire smartphones, the Desire 728 sports mid-range specs which we are not sure as how much will be accepted by the consumers at this point of time. From the looks of it we can say that the HTC Desire 728 would not be having a lot of competition as flagship devices has been dominating the market. But still budget devices from Motorola, Acer and One Plus are still a pure attraction to customers who are looking forward for an upgrade.



Based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop the HTC Desire 728 features a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The dimensions of the device comes up to 157.9x77.84x7.87mm and weighs around 153 grams. The available color options are Black and Gray or White and Gold. The handset sports a bezel less design which is not the usual pattern of this company. The sides are sleek thus giving the device an appealing look. The plastic body however allows the company to keep the costs down, even with a well-balanced look.



The 13 MP rear camera with LED flash is supplemented by a 5 MP front-camera. Being powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753, the Desire 728 is coupled with 2GB of RAM. The dual-SIM device comes with a 16 GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 2 TB via micro SD card.

The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, Micro-USB and 4G LTE TDD with support for Indian networks. Backed by a 2,800mAh battery the device can offer up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 485 hours of standby time in a 3G network. The audio quality offered will be good as the handset features the HTC BoomSound technology which is accompanied by Dolby Audio as well.

The Desire 728 will be like a number of other HTC devices and will be competing against Motorola Moto G and Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 . With the 5.5 inch big screen and the Boom Sound front facing speakers the handset will be warmly welcomed by users wanting to watch movies or play exciting games on this device. The device will be available for $270. At times it looks like HTC has all the right ingredients for a brilliant device but of lately they had not been executing it diligently. The HTC Desire 728 seems like a neat launch and HTC was certainly in need of a new device in the mid-range category, but can it succeed?
