Chinese laptop manufacturer Lenovo officially announced that it had become the world's best consumer PC selling brand with a stake of 15.7% worldwide. The consortium posted a rapid growth of 13% in the second quarter which encouraged the company to move to the number one spot. With this the annual revenue of the Chinese firm jumped to $8.67 billion from $7.79 billion.
"We've had success in China. For the next step, we want to expand in the emerging markets first, then mature markets. Lenovo became the worldwide number one consumer and notebook PC company in fiscal quarter two and remained as the largest PC company in emerging markets, including China,†said Chairman and CEO of Lenovo, Yang Yuanqing.
The American PC manufacturer, Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) was stepped down to the second place for a minimal difference of 0.2% with Lenovo. HP has a share of 15.5 worldwide. Followed by Dell Inc., possesses the third place with 10.5% share. The Taiwanese firm, Acer Inc. ornaments the fourth position as it has 9.8% stake. Asus is the fifth largest consumer PC manufaturer with a share of 7.3%.
