HCL launches MyEduWorld Tablet and Drive for Students

The days are no longer so far when all the students around the world studying online using their tablets and PCs. And turning a new chapter in the Indian online education system, HCL, the Indian IT giant launched the MyEduWorld tablet and the MyEduWorld drive. The tab is priced at Rs.9,999. While the drive is tagged between Rs.1,999 and Rs.2,699.

The MyEduWorld tablet is also known as the U1. It comes with a 7 inch capacitive multi touch screen. The gadget is run by Google's Android v4.03 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System. It is further powered by a Cortex A8 1 Ghz processor. The CPU is well supported by a RAM of 1 GB. It has a 0.3 VGA primary camera for video chatting. However, it lacks a rear camera. The storage of the MyEduWorld can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. Moreover, it has Wif-Fi and 3G connectivity.



The most important feature of the tablet is the preloaded education tools. It includes NCERT content from KG to higher secondary, options for key revision points, worksheet, practice exercise, gateway to more than 75,000+ question banks and quiz, online encyclopedia, problem solver and my studio for live video chats.

MyEduWorld Tablet

Meanwhile, the MyEduWorld drive, which is a USB drive, allows to access the preloaded stuffs boxed in it via a PC or laptop which is run by Windows OS. The drive supports only if the PC or laptop has minimum 1 GB RAM, 10 GB free hard disk space, run by Windows OS and connected to the internet. The drive comes with preloaded NCERT solved examples, practice exercise, worksheet and experiments from grade 1 to 10. It's available in 2 capacities – 8GB and 16GB, and priced at Rs.1,999 for the 8GB variant for grade 1 to 5, Rs.2,399 for the 8GB variant for grade 6 to 7 and Rs.2,699 for the 16GB variant for grade 8 to 10.
