Galaxy S4 Vs Xperia Z Vs HTC One Vs BB Z10 Vs iPhone 5 Vs Optimus G Pro

Here we come with a comparison of the key features of all the above mentioned smartphones. Go through them thoroughly and point out your favourite one. Here comes the analysis, feature by feature:

1. Design and Build:

Samsung Galaxy S4

In the matter of build, LG Optimus G Pro is bigger than the rest of them it has a measurement of 150.2×76.1×9.4 mm. On the second place is Sony Xperia Z, with a measurement of 139×71×7.9 mm. When Samsung Galaxy S4 has a measurement of 136.6×69.8×7.9 mm, HTC One features 137.4×68.2×9.3 mm. BlackBerry Z10 packs a measurement of 130×65.6×9 mm. iPhone 5 has the comparatively lower measurement of 123.8×58.6×7.6 mm.

LG Optimus G Pro has a weight of 172 g. Definitely, it is gonna make feel its presence in your hand or pocket. Here too Xperia Z is standing next in the queue with a weight of 146 g. HTC One stands close to Xperia Z with a weight of 143 g. Where BlackBerry Z10 weighs 137.5 g and Samsung Galaxy S4 130 g, Apple iPhone 5 stands out with a comparatively lesser weight, 112 g.

As per the measurements and weight, LG Optimus G Pro is the bigger child here. And Apple iPhone 5, the smallest. All the other handsets comes in between these two smartphones.

2. Display:

Sony Xperia Z

Display is the other feature where all these Smartphones vary. Here too Optimus G Pro stands out with its bigger display screen. It features a display of 5.5 inches. Both Samsung Galaxy S4 and Xperia Z have screen size of 5.0 inches. HTC One has 4.7 inches screen, BlackBerry Z10 a 4.2 inches and iPhone 5 with the smallest 4.0 inches display.

While all the other handsets feature a great screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, BlackBerry Z 10 is some steps down with its 768×1280 pixels, and iPhone 5 stands out with its 640×1136 pixels. It is unnecessary to mention that S4, G Pro, Xperia Z and HTC One will be having higher picture resolution.

Another feature which is a main criteria of short listing the handsets is its pixel density. HTC One excels here with a pixel density of 469 ppi, practically making no visible pixels. Galaxy S4 and Xperia Z stand second with a pixel density of 441ppi. Optimus G Pro has 401 ppi and Blackberry Z10 has 355 ppi. iPhone 5 has the poorest pixel density among these, 326 ppi.

If you are a person who cares much about the pixel density, the better choice is HTC One.

3. CPU:

HTC One

In the matter of CPU and performance, Samsung's Galaxy S4 succeeds all other handsets with its Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 and Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset.
Optimus G Pro and HTC One stand second with their Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 and Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset.

Xperia Z has Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU with Qualcomm MDM9215M / APQ8064 chipset. In the ear of quad core processors, BlackBerry Z10 and iPhone 5 still stick to Dual core Processors. BlackBerry Z10 has Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU with Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset. iPhone 5 has Dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU. But on the upper hand, Apple has got its own Apple A6 chipset.

4. Operating System:

BlackBerry Z10

Other than BlackBerry and Apple, all other smartphones run on Android platform. Samsung Galaxy S4 has an Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Sony Xperia Z and HTC One have Android OS, v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), planned upgrade to v4.2 (Jelly Bean) . LG Optimus G Pro has Android OS, v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

More or less the same OS, provide almost same performance level. BlackBerry 10 is Z10's operating system. Being the flagship OS of the company, it will need more time to let out a verdict on it.

Apple iPhone 5 has iOS 6, upgradable to iOS 6.1.2. It is still there a talk in the smartphone market that, once you use the Apple device, it is real hard to change your choice. That mind blowing is the performance of an iPhone.

5. Camera:

Apple iPhone 5

Twin cameras have become the basic requirement of a smartphone. All these listed smartphones have dual cameras. A powerful rear camera and a less powered front camera to support video calling.

Xperia Z stands first in the case of rear camera. Xperia Z packs a rear camera of 13.1 MP. It has an image resolution of 4128×3096 pixels. Galaxy S4 and Optimus G Pro are very close to Xperia Z, with a rear camera of 13MP resolution.

BlackBerry Z10 and iPhone 5 shares the same features, a 13MP rear camera with 3264×2448 pixels. Though it has only 4MP rear camera, HTC One's ultra pixel camera cannot be neglected. That is worth a 13 MP camera.

When it comes to secondary camera, Xperia Z excels there too, with 2.2 MP, 1080p@30fps. HTC One stands next with 2.1 MP, 1080p@30fps with HDR. Optimus G Pro is also there with 2.1 MP and 1080p@30fps. Galaxy S4 has 2 MP, 1080p @30fps with dual video call. S4 got an added advantage here. BlackBerry Z10 has 2 MP camera with 720p @30fps. The poorer front camera belong to iPhone 5, which packs 1.2 MP camera with 720p@30fps. But it has some special features like face detection, FaceTime over Wi-Fi or Cellular.

Taking camera features in to consideration, it is LG's Optimus G Pro, that is comparatively dis advantaged. It has Geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization features, which is a shorter list, compared to its rivals. More or less same is the status of BlackBerry Z10. It too packs a shorter feature list of Geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization.

Then there is iPhone 5, with Simultaneous HD video and image recording, touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection and panorama features for its camera. The next is Sony Xperia Z. It has features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, HDR and sweep panorama.

HTC One packs 1/3'' sensor size, 2µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection and OIS as its camera features. Galaxy S4 has comparatively higher camera features. It packs Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, HDR and image stabilization.

Xperia Z excels in both the rear and the front cameras. HTC One's Ultra pixels are also worth a try. Galaxy S4 has nothing new in its camera. But it has a pretty good package of camera features.

6.Storage:

LG Optimus G Pro

Except iPhone 5, all other phones listed here have 2GB RAM. iPhone 5 has only 1GB RAM. Galaxy S4, HTC One and iPhone 5 have internal storage capacity up to 64 GB. LG Optimus G Pro has 32 GB internal storage and Xperia Z and BlackBerry Z10 have 16GB internal storage.

HTC One and iPhone 5 have no extra memory card slot. Which, of course, is not a good news. Xperia Z supports micro sd card up to 32 GB. Galaxy S4, BlackBerry Z10 and LG Optimus G Pro have external memory card support up to 64 GB.

7. Battery:

LG Optimus pro among the smartphones has the most powerful battery. It is powered by a Li-Po 3140 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy S4 has a Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery. Which slightly less powered than G Pro, but an all rounder in performance. Sony Xperia Z and HTC One have Non-removable Li-Ion batteries, 2330 mAh and 2300 mAh respectively. BlackBerry Z10 has Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery. iPhone 5 has the least powered battery among the smartphones, a Non-removable Li-Po 1440 mAh battery (5.45 Wh).

8. Price:

Though Samsung has not yet announced the price of Galaxy S4, we can make a wild guess about the approximate price. All of these phones are high priced, owing much to its high end features.HTC ONE and BlackBerry Z10 will be having a price tag of nearly 45,000/- Indian Rupees. Samsung Galaxy S4 will be same or sometimes more than this. Apple iPhone 5 is currently available at 42,000/- Rupees. LG Optimus G Pro and Sony Xperia Z might come with a price tag of 40,000/- Rupees.

Being released recently, we should give these phones some time to stick their leg in the market before scrutinizing its pros and cons. Samsung has not revealed S4 Galaxy's price yet. So, the price analysis also requires time it seems.
