Here is an analysis of the major smartphone releases and announcements in the month of April.

April has been a very productive year as far as the smartphone market is concerned. There were nearly twenty smartphones those got either announced or released in the month. 1) Sony Xperia SP:

Sony released their Xperia SP in April 2013. it is a mid ranged smartphone, reached on Indian shores at 27,500/- rupees. Xperia SP is the scaled don version of Sony's flagship phone, the Xperia Z. It was released targeting the lesser budgeted Xperia fans. In features ans specifications, Xperia SP does not disappoint an average user.

This strip will adjust its colour automatically so that it will blend with the theme or even with the album of the song you are playing. There are options for the users to customise the colour of the notification bar. The phone comes with 4G facility.

2) HTC One:

HTC released its One smartphone this month. First became famous as the HTC M7, the device made its launch in February 2013.HTC has been trying very hard to stay alive in the smartphone market, where tough competition is always up.

With its flagship HTC One, the company made a strong coming back to the battle field. HTC One has a metal unibody design, and it is powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor running at 1.7GHz. The device has an Adreno 320 GPU. It sports a 4.7" screen with Super LCD 3 technology screen with 1080 pixels resolution and features 2GB RAM. The device is run by Google’s Android Jelly Bean version 4.1 Operating System.

It will help to turn your Android phone into a social phone. But we can not say that HTC First is out and out a Facebook Home phone. Because, the phone gives you an option to turn the Facebook Home application off. Coming at a very budget friendly price, the device was released in April 2013.

5) Nokia Lumia 720:

Nokia had announced Lumia 720 in the Mobile World Congress, took place in the month of February. Lumia 720 was released in April 2013. Lumia 720 is a mid – ranged smartphone. It has Windows 8 as its Operating System. Of course the Lumia 720 is priced lesser than Lumia 820 and 920. The company had definitely put an effort to make the new Lumia more stylish and palm friendly than the previous ones.

Announced along with the Lumia 720 in the Mobile World Congress, Lumia 520 was released in April 2013. it has a price tag of rupees 10,000/-. Thats why we labelled it as an entry level Windows operated Smartphone from Nokia. Nokia has released this device under the safe shadow of the success of Lumia 620, 820 and 920.

7) Micromax Canvas 3D:

Micromax has released their Canvas 3D on the last day of April. According to the claims of the company, the phone will be providing hassle free 3D experience to the users without any need of a 3D glasses. Priced at Rs 9,999, the Canvas 3D has a 5-inch touchscreen and runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). The phone has a 1GHz dual-core processor.

The phone has a 5 mega pixel rear camera with auto focus and a 0.3 mega pixel front camera. The phone allows users to convert the regular pictures into the 3D picture format. With an expandable memory of 32 GB, the phone supports Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. The device will be available in Indian stores from May onwards.

8) Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8:

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 inches, code named as Samsung Galaxy Mega I9150, was announced with a bit of confusion. Later, the company came up with clarification that the phone will be coming in two different versions- a single SIM and a dual SIM version. Both will be having the same code number and same features.

As the name suggests, the Galaxy Mega 's main attraction is its big screen. Though there are no information regarding the price tag of the phone, there are chances that Samsung might release it as a mid ranged phone. The releasing date of the phone also is not yet confirmed.

9) Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3:

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 has been announced along with Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8. as the name indicates, the phone will feature a large display of 6.3 inches. With a measurement of 67.6×88×8 mm, the Samsung Galaxy Mega I9200 is quiet handy. Though there are nothing strikingly different or unique in it, the design of the phone has the signature of an out and out Samsung Galaxy phone.

Though the company has not yet given any confirmation on the releasing date or the price tag of the device, the tech world is expecting a release in the next few months with a mid ranged price tag.

10) LG Lucid2 VS870:

Lucid2 VS870 is LG's 4G smartphone, announced in April 2013. Though there are no confirmation of its price has been done by the company, the complete specification of the phone has been let out.
