LG G2 – An Early Preview

Read here an early preview of LG G2 smartphone.

Optimus G Pro was a very attractive smartphone, which belong to the phablet category, from LG. After the G Pro, which was marked as a strong rival to the Note series of Samsung, LG is getting ready with another smartphone, the G2. In its specs and features, G2 is an equally equipped smartphone. The device is available for pre booking now, at 33,999/- rupees.

The tech world has already marked the G2 smartphone as a strong rival to the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. Being neighbours, Samsung is LG's nearest competitor in the field of smartphones and gadgets. There is no need to say that LG has a very long distance to catch up with Samsung. Well, it seems like they are trying hard.

Though it is not as bigger as the Optimus G Pro, G2 has a big display screen of 5.2 inches. The attractive spec list of the smartphone includes a quad core 2.26 GHz processor, which is coupled with 2GB of RAM. The positive side of this processor RAM combo is that the battery life will be loner. As per the reports, if what is there in the papers are really practicable, then the G2 smartphone will be having a 1.2 day's battery life with a single charging, which is quite high, comparing to the other smartphones available in the market. There is a powerful 3000 mAh battery to provide the long battery life for the smartphone.

Taking in to consideration the design of the G2 smartphone, we can see that there is a major change in the design. The volume rocker and the power/lock keys are placed at the rear side of the smartphone, below the camera. Though the change is welcoming and innovative, we are yet to test whether it was a wise decision.

The G2 smartphone's display features include a True HD-IPS plus LCD capacitive touchscreen, with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 424 ppi pixel density. Of course, it is a stunning combo. There are two cameras, one rear camera of 13 MP and a front camera of 2.1 MP. The memory options of the smartphone is slightly disappointing. The smartphone has only 1 GB RAM. The internal storage memory capacity is 32 GB, out of which, only 24 GB will be available for the users. As there is no provision for an extra SD card, this memory might not be enough for everyone. LG can expect some feed back from this session.

The User Interface of the G2 bags a big round of applause for LG. From the customisation of the home screen buttons and changing the detailing of the LED notification light, to the Quick Remote infra red functionality, LG rocks. The Quick Remote lets you replace any remote with your G2 smartphone.

Till now the BoomSound was the topper. Now, it seem s like the Hi-Fi audio of G2 will overpower any other audio technology. There were reports that LG literally had to rewrite a portion of the Android OS to enable the improved audio. The minute detailing and definition of the audio will sweep you off for sure.

Double tapping on the screen will lock it and you can repeat the double tapping to unlock. There are numerous minute innovations like this in the new G2 smartphone. All these minute details will be a blessing for an advanced user. But as far as a beginner or an average user is concerned, they might not even notice all these peculiarities. So, there are chances that a common user might miss the innovations brought in by LG with much pains.

LG G2

There is a minute drawback with the notification bar. As the notification bar gets loaded on every now and then, there will be a long list waiting for you every time. Sometimes there will be a heap of notifications that you might find it difficult to dig out a particular one from it. The three finger swipe option is all confusing and we are sure that a first time user will be losing his patience with this. There are other apps like the text link, which lets the user search through any words and connect it to calender, maps or internet. But, as mentioned above, these all will be useful for only advanced users. Beginners might not like this inclusion, we fear.

In short, only a tech freak will go for the G2, if we evaluate the smartphone with its innovative features. A common user or a less techie will go for another smartphone without this much complications.

LG G2

We all know that in the over flooding of Samsung and the tech giant Apple, LG is struggling hard to keep up. Every time when there is a chance for a new LG smartphone, the tech world is expecting for a whooping device. But with G2, it was a safe game, we should say. One thing is sure that LG smartphones are getting better by every release. G2 is way too good than the Optimus G Pro. It really gives us hopes.

It is true that LG deserves a huge hit, taking in to consideration the pains they took to be creative and innovative in the smartphone market. But, sadly, its not the G2. The huge hit is yet to come, which will uplift LG to the level of Samsung and Apple.
