Advantages and Disadvantages of Budget Friendly Smartphones

Essential things you should know before buying a smartphone!

“Budget friendly”, “Low Priced” - these words are very common in the present smartphone market. When it comes to buying a smartphone, the price tag really matters. The features of the higher end smartphones are dazzling, but we should consider the state of our pockets too. That is the speciality of Indian market. When it comes to India, the price matters as much as the features. That is why low budget smartphones get more popular here.

Not only Indian made phones and Chinese phones, but low budget smartphones from international brands like Samsung has started to reach the Indian shores recently. As the two sides of a coin, these devices have advantages and disadvantages too. Let's check that too.

Advantages:

Let's check the advantages first. It is always good to start with something positive!

1.Low Cost:

That was an obvious one! But that is the main advantage of a low priced smartphone. Being able to buy a good smartphone with good features at a convenient and reasonable price is not a small thing. It is sure that your life style could get changed with the coming of a smartphone in your life. So, the main advantage of the low budget smartphone is that it makes the “owning a smartphone” dream possible for a middle class man.

2. Cheaper to replace parts:

Yet another advantage of a low budget smartphone is that it is not that expensive to change the parts. If there is some huge scratch on the screen, or on the rare, or to change the battery, they all come handy at reasonable prices. That is not the case with high end or flagship smartphones. It will cost you a real good amount of money to change the spares parts of an extensive flagship smartphone.

3. No emotional dilemmas:

Imagine you bough a smartphone at 40-45 thousand. Imagine you lost it. Or it accidentally got dropped from your and is broken. You heart will be broken in to more pieces than the smartphone, right? Taking in to consideration the huge fortune you spent on the high priced smartphone, you are sure to lose the peace of mind. But if it a budget friendly smartphone, the burden will be lessened for sure.

4. Less complication:

Everyone will agree with me in this case. The lower the price tag, the less complicated the device will be and the more easier it would be to use. Especially in the case of a new user, the low prices smartphone will be friendlier to use than the flagship smartphones.

5. Availability:

If it is a low end smartphone, that will reach your hands soon after it got released in any part of the world. But that is not the case of the flagship smartphones. You will have to wait weeks or sometimes months to get the device in to your hands once it is released in its mother country.

6. All the features of flagship phones:

The interesting fact is that you will get almost all the features available in a high end smartphone in a budget smartphone. Especially in the case of Indian made smartphones, there is a trend prevailing right now, that, once a flagship phone releases with high end specs and sky high price tag, an Indian or Chinese replica will be released soon, with almost similar features and design, but with a stunningly lower price tag.

Disadvantages:

Well, every good things will have a darker side. Low budget smartphones are never an exception. There are enough disadvantages too. Let me list here some of them.

1. Look:

However you may try to polish the low budget smartphone, it will still lack the premium look of the high end smartphone. Some manufacturer are trying their best to bring in the elegant design and build, but as they have to keep the price in the border line, the cost of production would be forced to cut down. That will affect the look of the smartphone too.

2. Limited functions:

Apps and features available in a low end smartphone will be very limited. The display, camera, connectivity options, every thing will a step behind that of the high end smartphones.

3. Poor storage:

Storage options will be far lower in low priced phones when compared with the high priced ones. Apps and games will be suffering. If you are an ardent game player or an app lover, there are chances that the RAM of the low priced smartphones to disappoint you.

4. Will get outdated soon:

Low priced smartphones are not meant for the future. One of the main advantages of a high end smartphone is that the features and technology incorporated in it would be the latest and it will be getting out dated very slowly. Compared to this, the lower end smartphones will be lacking the latest technology and so, will be getting outdated in a sooner pace.

5. Features are scaled down:

Though the budget friendly smartphones will be having almost all the features of the high end smartphone, those features will be scaled down versions. Taking in to consideration the low cost, we can't blame the manufactures for this limitation.

6. Health risks:

The amount of radiation will be higher in a low priced smartphone than a flagship phone. The care taken while manufacturing the phone will be lesser. As the manufacturers know that nobody will be using it for that long time, the care will be lesser.

7. Marketing Tactic:

There are instances like taking pre orders of a smartphone and manufacture only that number of phones. The problem here will be that you will not able to replace the phone or find its spare parts. They will be no longer available in the market. This a point you should be taking care of. Do not buy less popular phones.

8. After sales service:

The after sales service for the budget friendly phones can be dissatisfying at times. You will not be treated as gently as your device is a cheaper one and the shop owners will not be getting that profit from it as with the expensive smartphones. There would be exceptional cases of course.

Thee are the major advantages and disadvantages of a budget friendly smartphone. Think well before you decide on what type of phone you need to buy. Whether it is low priced or expensive, the money is yours, the phone is yours and it should be suitable to you. Before finalising the decision, make sure that the phone you chose is the apt one for you. If there is something you want missing in the phone. Do not go for it. There are a plenty of phones available right out there with all the requirements. Be a bit patient in purchasing.
