Mobile phones run on embedded chip sets, which are designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions. They often function with real-time computing constraints. They are embedded as part of the complete device including hardware and mechanical parts. The Chip sets of nowadays smartphones are more advanced that they will be able to perform different tasks.
